More News on smart...This Time It's Local!

More news, Chicago!  This time, the illustrious Chicago Sun-Times has joined the conversation!  Kelly Thomas, columnist from the Sun-Times, writes "Overall, the smart was fun to drive, especially because I felt like a celebrity responding to all the attention this car got on the road...Bikers, tourists, motorists in BMWs, Porsches, and especially Prius drivers smiled and asked us questions."

smart fortwo in the USA Today!

Here's a new article on the smart fortwo that came out today in the USA Today.  Turns out the entire nation is ready for smart!

Does Size Matter, Chicago?

What do you think?  There are a couple things to notice. 

First of all, notice the width of the smart fortwo.  The Mini Cooper, long heralded as an agile small vehicle that is fun to drive.  Do you think the fortwo could be as fun?

Second, let's look at the height.  The smart fortwo is taller then both the Mini and the bestselling mid-size sedan in the U.S., the Toyota Camry.  Why is this?  The occupants in the fortwo are seated higher, which not only gives the driver a better view of the road ahead, but it also makes sure other vehicles can see it.  Also, it helps the safety of the occupants in the case of a side collision, keeping them futher out of harms way.

The third dimension we can look at is length.  The smart fortwo is a full 40 inches shorter than the Cooper, and an astounding 100 inches shorter than a Hummer H2.  Think that will help in tight traffic and parking situations?

Lastly, let's chcek out the weight.  The fortwo is almost 750 pounds less than the Cooper, and 3.6 times less than a Hummer H2.  What does this say about the handling, not to mention the obvious fuel savings?

A lot of you have been e-mailing to ask about smart fortwo reservations.  According to smart USA, everyone interested in reserving a fortwo pure, passion, or passion cabrio need to go to www.smartusa.com and put down the $99 reservation.  Once you do this, smart USA will be in contact with you to confirm your model and options.  After you have confirmed your order, smart Center Lincolnwood, Chicago's exclusive smart dealer, will be in touch with you to schedule your delivery. 

IMPORTANT:  If you would like to take delivery at smart Center Lincolnwood, you must specify this when making and confirming your reservation.  If not, you risk having to travel out of your way to take delivery of your smart fortwo.
