The Eric & Kathy Golf Outing - Success!

On Friday, June 12^th, smart center Lincolnwood proudly sponsored the 9^th annual 101.9 The Mix Eric & Kathy Charity Golf Outing at the Willow Crest Golf Club in

Oak Brook

.  The outing benefitted the Super Jake Foundation that helps kids who are fighting the battle against pediatric cancer.

 

The event was a huge success!  It was also a great deal of fun.  In addition to the golfing, Brad Maynard, Bears punter, and his wife were both in attendance, and Brad was able to be one of the first to dunk WGN-9 news anchor Mark Suppelsa into the dunk tank!  Josh Kelley, husband of Katherine Heigl, was also in attendance and performed a few of his songs live.

1st Anniversary Event Success!!

smart center Lincolnwood's 1st Anniversary Event was a HUGE success!  We had over 110 people and over 50 smarts show up on a beautiful April Saturday morning.

The morning started off with some tasty breakfast treats and mingling with other smart enthusiasts.  Then the smart center Lincolnwood Brand Manager, Josh Dreyer, gave a rousing introduction and introduced Laura Arft, Lincolnwood's Accessories Manager.  Laura outlined a TON of new accessories that have become available in 2009, including BRABUS accessories and some aftermarket stereo options.  Then smart center Lincolnwood's new Service Manager, Jeff Schulte, was introduced. 

Jeff introduced Ivette Soto, Lincolnwood's new smart Service Advisor, outlined the service 2.0 upgrade, and answered several questions before showing the group into the service drive.  In the drive the customers saw their cars filling up the drive and 3 of Lincolnwood's new smart service demos on lifts.  Jeff, Ivette and the smart technician team answered a lot of questions and helped the group understand a little more about their smarts!

After Jeff and the crew were finished answering questions and the group had been able to see each other's smarties, everyone met back in the showroom and Josh had everyone sign up for the new official 'Chicago smart Club'.  We had over 50 people sign up for the club, and several were interested in being leaders! 

After an exciting morning, the group of over 50 smarts were lined up around the Loeber Motors campus and we took off on our road rally down the Kennedy, through downtown Chicago and to Burnham Harbor where we met for a brief group photo of everyone with the smarts lined up and the city in the background.

All in all, we here at smart center Lincolnwood had a GREAT time seeing everyone again!  The photos (courtesy of John Langfeld and Jim Link) are available for viewing on the top left side of the www.getsmartchicago.com homepage.  Hopefully even more people (and their smarts) will be able to attend the next event...anyone heading to the Dells?

RENNTECH Pushes the Limit!

Attention, all you Chicago-area smart enthusiasts!  smart center Lincolnwood is proud to announce the introduction of the newest member of the smart fortwo family!  Built by tuning house RENNTECH, this little pistol is designed to satisfy all of those who are looking for more performance out of their smart!

RENNTECH's tiny phenom, the smart fortwo 7.22, is powered by no less than 2 1,000CC engines (one to power the rear wheels, one to power the front wheels), and can reach 0-60MPH in 5.1 seconds!  Each engine is designed to produce 91BHP!

Hey, Chicago smart-ers!  It has come to my attention that some of you may be wandering around this blog looking for information on the dealership itself.  To get more information, please visit our dealer site, www.smartcenterlincolnwood.com.  You can find all sorts of information, such as personnel, hours of operation, and more information on the smart fortwos!

We will still be keeping this site up-to-date with the latest photos, news, and scheduled events, as there isn't a really good place to keep this stuff on the main dealer site.  So feel free to check back here for stuff that's a little less formal than www.smartcenterlincolnwood.com! 

Welcome to February!

In the beginning, Chicago smart fortwo fans, we had a showroom with nothing to show.  Now, 30 deliveries later, Chicago and the surrounding area in southwest Michigan, northwest Indiana, and southern Illinois are seeing their first smarts driving around...and we couldn't be more excited!

So what's next, Chicago?  We are currently working on a couple things.

1.  Continuing to deliver reservation holders new smart fortwos as soon as they arrive,

2.  Completing our 'smartcard' program to provide smart center Lincolnwood's reservation holders and owners with 'green' benefits for being thought leaders in their communities, and

3.  Planning for our first smart event, the Grand Opening of smart center Lincolnwood (date and time TBA)!

Also, keep a lookout in your local papers, radio stations, and tv stations, as smart center Lincolnwood can pop up at any time!  And be sure to check out our new photos to the left, as some of our reservation holders who have taken delivery have been featured.

The moment you've ALL been waiting for!

It's the moment you've all been waiting for, Chicago!  Announcing the new smart center Lincolnwood!  Our first vehicles will begin shipping to us the week of Monday the 14th of January, so our first reservation holders will be contacted very shortly.

But am I one of the first reservation holders?  We will be contacting our first batch of reservation holders beginning at the end of this week!  smart USA will also be contacting you regarding your vehicle and authorized dealer.

So, Chicago...on behalf of smart center Lincolnwood, thank you for your patience and we will be talking with you all very soon!

An update from Chicago's smart center!

Hey, everyone!  Get ready...smart center Lincolnwood's construction is 99% complete!  Go ahead and check out the photos of our progress by clicking the link on the right side of the page called 'smart Construction - 12.31.2007'.

We are also looking forward to seeing our first fortwos arriving in Chicago in the middle of this month!  This means that our first reservation holders should be looking to take delivery in the next few weeks!  We will begin contacting reservation holders in the Chicago area within the next week or two to give you a status update. 

What does this mean for our patient line holders in the reservation process?  We'll also have a few demos to drive, and some official smart merchandise available.  So come on in, meet Josh, our smart center Lincolnwood brand manager, or Billy and Colin, our two smart brand specialists, and check out the brand new smart fortwos!  We can't wait to meet all of you!
